If you’re struggling with working at a job you dislike, or dealing with a difficult boss/colleague/situation at work, it can be hard to work to the best of your ability. In fact, having a challenging relationship within your work environment can affect not only your enjoyment of your job, but your quality of work as well.
This can become a vicious cycle as you feel worse and worse, resulting in an escalation in problems in all areas of your life. The great news is: you can change your situation without needing to make your boss/colleague/job change.
We all know that we can’t make other people change; you may have tried in the past, but the only person we have control over is ourselves. For this reason, in order to regain our power and sanity, we need to take full control of our own experience regardless of what others are doing.
This may sound extremely difficult and despite how it seems at times, just as we can’t make others feel or do the things we want them to if they don’t want to feel or do them – others cannot make us feel or do anything we choose not to.
As long as you develop the ability to control your own emotions, you are the boss of you!

It’s not impossible and it can make work more tolerable while you look for other employment options. Sometimes using this step-by-step method is so effective that you’ll find the work environment you hated so much becomes something you’re excited about!
Create the Life You’ve Always Wanted – Starter Course

Take a moment to think about your work situation. How do you feel when you think of it? Where in your body do you feel it, and how strong is it? For example, you may feel a sensation in your stomach, a tightness in your throat, or a sensation in your stomach. Just notice how you know it’s there.
Using two fingers, and focusing on the feeling of your fingertips on your skin, gently tap on the following points while saying the phrases:
* Between your eyebrows – “I release and let this go”
* Beside your eye (it doesn’t matter which one) – “It’s okay to let this go now”
* Under your eye – “It’s safe to let this go”
* Just below your collarbone – “I don’t need this anymore, and I’m safe as I’m letting it go”
Grab your wrist, take a deep breath, blow it out and say “Peace”. Then think of a peaceful memory. It could you a peaceful memory or somewhere you haven’t been but would like to go that excites and calms you. Remember the feeling of that memory and enjoy it for a moment.
Now think of your work situation again, and notice if you feel different in any way. Has the feeling changed? If it hasn’t, notice what’s still left and repeat steps Two to Four until the feeling has flipped. If the feeling has not changed, think back to when in your life you’ve felt this same feeling before. When have you felt like this in the past? Who was it that made you feel this way? Notice the feeling and the memory.
Memory flipping or memory reimprinting in FasterEFT is used to clear the emotional charge in a memory. As long as you keep with the tapping, you will notice the memory will often change on its own. You don’t necessarily need to consciously change it. As you continue to tap and alternate between the memory that bothers you and a peaceful memory, you will start to notice that the feelings, visuals and audio in the memory that bothers you change.
Look at the expressions on the faces of other people in the memory, as well as your own expression; and notice how, as you keep tapping and checking back, the expressions change. The characters in your memory are now smiling; those who hurt you are now loving you. Repeat Steps Two to Four until that memory has flipped. Once it’s flipped, go back to thinking about your work situation and notice how the feeling has changed now. If there’s still any negative feeling left, repeat Steps Two to Four until it has completely changed.
Now that you have changed your response to your work situation when you think of it; it’s time to test it out in reality. Before you go to work again, check to see how you feel. If there are any negative feelings or thoughts at all, repeat Steps Two to Four. If the negative feelings occur when you get to work, or when your colleagues speak to you, use the mental tapping technique in the moment to clear them as they come up.
You will notice that your experience of your work will change, and you may even find that you are actually enjoying what you do and that your colleagues are responding to you completely differently.
