What to Do When You Don’t Know What You Want

Many people have a challenge when it comes to changing their lives because they don’t know what they want. If you know you want a better life, but have no idea what that would look like, here’s a process that will help you to figure out what it is you really want, what it looks and feels like, and how you can go about achieving it.

Why Don’t You Know What You Want?

For most people, the reason they don’t know what they want is that they have so much of what they don’t want. When you are surrounded and steeped in what you don’t want, it can be very difficult to see past it. There are two main reasons for this:

  1. When you’re so deep in experiences you don’t want, there is a part of you that cannot imagine anything better being possible.
  2. From when you were born, as you experienced life, your subconscious interpreted your experiences, and filed those interpretations as memories or records. It then referred to those records throughout your life to maintain your “reality” according to that “evidence” of who you are and how life works.
    If you are fully subscribed to that “reality” you will find it very difficult to see beyond it. In other words, if your “reality” (through your life experience so far) is that you are always struggling financially and working in a job you hate – with a strong foundation belief that you have no power to change your circumstances – it can be very difficult to see any hope of a realistic improvement in your life. This can lead to not knowing what you want because there is nothing you would prefer that you believe you would be able to achieve.

How to Find Out What You Want – Using FasterEFT

FasterEFT is the most effective way of not only transforming your life so that you are able to live the life you want – it is also the most effective way to find out what it is you do want!

If you don’t yet know what you want, start with what you don’t want. Using FasterEFT to clear out what you don’t want will open the way for you to discover what you really want.

Step One

Take a deep breath, close your eyes and take a moment to think of what it is you don’t like about your life right now. Pinpoint the feeling of what you don’t want. There may well be several aspects of your life you don’t want, but just pick one to begin with – the worst one. Notice how it feels, and think back to previous experiences with this pattern or aspect. Pick a memory that is either the first time you can remember experiencing it, or the strongest example of it. Just notice the details – see what you saw, hear what you heard, feel what you felt. Notice what the feeling feels like, where in your body you feel it, and how strong it is.

Step Two

Using two fingers, gently tap the following meridian points while focusing on the feeling of your fingertips on your skin and saying the phrases.

– Between your eyebrows – I release and let it go

– Beside your eye – It’s okay to let this go now

– Under your eye – I don’t need it anymore, and it’s safe to let it go now

– Just below your collarbone – That’s right, just let it all go; and I’m okay as I’m letting it go now

Step Three

Grab your wrist, take a deep breath, blow it out, and say “Peace”. Go to a peaceful memory and enjoy the feeling of that for a moment.

Step Four

Now, go back to the memory you focused on in Step One. Notice if it’s changed in any way. Notice if the intensity of the feeling is different. Notice what’s still there.

Step Five

Go back and repeat Steps Two through Four until all bad feelings have been replaced by good feelings, and any memories have flipped. The memories will change as you keep tapping. Don’t stop until the memory has completely changed from a bad one to a good memory.

Do this with each part of your life that you don’t want or aren’t happy with. As you clear the records that are creating those experiences in your life, you will begin to notice what you do want. Your desires will automatically replace your dislikes as you go through the FasterEFT process. And as you do this, you will be changing those records in your subconscious – which will allow you to not only know what you want, but to achieve it!
